Bringing HOPE to a hope deficient generation!

Catch me in action!
ABOUT LAMAR

Lamar Butler, known as LB, first took the stage at the ripe age of 12 to share God’s word.
It was at this time that he realized that he was born to have a mic in his hands and use his voice to inspire positive action in those around him. Whether he was representing his school in some event, being the keynote speaker at the State Beta Convention, or sharing God’s word, Lamar was going to use his voice to make an impact. During his college years he faced true devastation as he lost his mother, and while he was in a place of mourning and reflecting, the Hope Dealer was born.
LB realized that the world around him was getting darker, suicide rates were up, depression was rampant, and violence seemed to be an answer to everything. He decided he would help bring light to the darkness because he too had faced many of the same things people were struggling with, especially young adults. After graduating, he became a teacher where he spent two years instilling hope into his students and helping them overcome some of their dark situations. He has spoken to middle and high school students around the country inspiring them to focus on H.O.P.E, even inspiring many of the adults in the room. Lamar now works for the federal government advocating for diversity, equity, inclusion, and accessibility. He also serves as a trainer for existing businesses and industry teaching leadership and Microsoft skills.
LB’s goal is to ensure that hope reigns supreme and everyone has a chance to achieve their dream.
It can cloud our judgment, numb our emotions, and send us searching to fill a void with any and everything. It was in this darkness that the Hope Dealer was born. After losing my mom near the end of college, I truly discovered what it means to have H.O.P.E. I’ve had, and will continue to have, valley and mountaintop experiences in my life just like the students I desire to help. Death comes in all shapes and forms, the death of a person, dream, relationship, confidence, or even passion. My goal is to help them understand early that healthy and intentional navigation of these experiences will lead to the best possible version of themselves.
Death has a way of putting us into a dark space like none other.

SPEAKING TOPICS

H.O.P.E
Without darkness, there can be no light and without pain there is no joy. We all go through life facing difficulty and working to overcome various challenges. We don’t come out of those battles without a scratch and sometimes we are left with even more than that. This talk helps the audience:
-
Focus on why it is important in life to heal from trauma and pain,
-
Seek opportunities to grow,
-
Focus on our passions, and
-
Never forget to be educated.

DO It Anyway and Do it ALl
In this life we all have choices, and many of us tend to make the choices that align with our feelings, but not with what’s actually best for us. We seek out pleasure instead of pain and want instant rather than delayed gratification. An easy life is what we desire, so we lean towards the things where the road has been paved rather than blazing our own. Emotions drive the decisions of the mediocre.

In this talk LB helps the audience move away from emotionally fueled decisions to decisions based on the best outcome for the individual. The audience learns how to do it anyway and the importance of doing it all.

7 Keys to Leadership
Whether you were born to lead or just happened to get a leadership position, the weight of leadership is great. As leaders we are responsible for the overall success of the mission, project, or organization and we must galvanize those who are part of our team to willingly follow us on the journey. However, people won’t willingly follow those they don’t have faith in nor will they perform to the best of their ability.
This talk will give the audience what they need in order to be the best and most effective version of themselves as a leader.
